2012 Summer Pops Series

The RHODE ISLAND PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA has confirmed five Summer Pops concerts in various locations in Rhode Island this summer, beginning with a 4th of July concert at India Point Park, Providence. Stay tuned for more announcements coming soon. Resident Conductor FRANCISCO NOYA will conduct all concerts which are free of charge and open to the public.

The Summer Pops 2012 program will include light classics, music from Broadway shows and popular patriotic numbers, as well as Summer Pops traditional favorites, America the Beautiful and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.

All Concerts are free of charge *all rain dates are the following evening at the same time.

FRANCISCO NOYA is a well-known figure in the Boston-New England music scene. He served as Music Director of the Longwood Symphony Orchestra in Boston for 12 seasons and is a prominent member of the Conducting Faculty at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. As Resident Conductor of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, he conducts the POPS-PHIL-PPAC Series, Education concerts and the Summer Pops Series.
